What is a Wellness Coach?

As your Wellness Coach, I am a dedicated partner in your journey to achieve and maintain optimal health and wellness. My role is to provide personalized support and guidance, helping you implement sustainable lifestyle changes that positively impact your overall well-being. With continuous learning at the core of my practice, I ensure that I am always equipped with the latest and most effective methods and insights. I don't prescribe therapeutic diets or medical treatments; instead, I offer informed guidance, accountability, and practical lifestyle strategies that focus on holistic well-being.

Together, we will navigate the path to a healthier, more vibrant life, utilizing a rich toolkit of resources and strategies tailored specifically for women in menopause and midlife.

My transformation journey began in my 30s when the demands of career, family responsibilities and academic pursuits took a toll on my well-being. Suffering from acid reflux, ulcers and digestive issues, I was exhausted and disconnected from my body.

Soon after, I discovered the profound impact of yoga, ayurveda and meditation. I forged a partnership with my body and began to witness first-hand how my lifestyle choices were impacting my health. I started making mindful choices in my diet and incorporating stress-reducing practices and was able to eliminate my symptoms.

My 40s brought new health challenges with endometriosis, uterine fibroids and pelvic pain. After surgery to remove an ovary, I began to experience hot flashes, night sweats, brain fog, fatigue and increasing anxiety. This was my first dance with menopause. At that time there was little information on how lifestyle choices and stress could impact menopause symptoms. So, I started hormone replacement therapy (HRT). The hot flashes and brain fog improved. But I didn’t want to be dependent on HRT for the rest of my life.

Once again, I listened to my own body and made changes to my lifestyle, slowing down, resting more, and adjusting my exercise routine to one that supported me in this phase of life. I was able to stop taking HRT and get my body back to a state of balance.

And now, in my 50’s, the lifestyle habits I’ve developed over the past two decades, are supporting me in my final transition through menopause. Like you, I’m navigating all the ups and downs this stage of life has to offer. I deeply understand the challenges and joys, because I’m right there with you.

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be BRILLIANT, GORGEOUS, TALENTED, FABULOUS? Actually, who are you not to be? There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you.

We are all meant to shine.
